Mega has a lot going on around the world, these days! We are pleased to announce the completion of several milestone projects with three of our overseas manufacturing partners:
Bard Engineering® in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia has completed 3x MTT42’s with Caterpillar® WDS 1.0 spray control systems
Gainwell Engineering® in Panagarh, West Bengal, India has completed the first Indian-built MTT13
Petricio Industrial® in Antofagasta, Chile has completed the first 2x MTT70 water tanks with DiSCS® spray control systems
Mega has also shipped the first 2x MTT20 water tanks for use with Caterpillar®® WDS 2.0 system. These units will soon be followed by several additional tanks from 13,000 gallon (49,000 liter) to 30,000 gallon (114,000 liter) – all equipped with the Caterpillar® WDS 2.0 spray control system. For selected Caterpillar® chassis, Mega is now offering both the Mega DiSCS® spray control system as well as the Caterpillar® WDS system. We are offering both systems because we want to offer the right solutions for each customer’s unique application.
We are excited fo all of these accomplishments and particularly proud to be building the world’s largest mining truck water tank (at least we don’t know of anything larger!). We are proud to have built this tank with our Chilean partner; Petricio Industrial® – our longest and most productive partnership. I am particularly pleased to see this water tank on a 930E since I was Chief Engineer for the original development of the 930E earlier in my career (can you believe that project was completed almost 30 years ago!). We are happy to introduce Mr. Bakang Kgaswane as our newest sales representative. Bakang is based in Johannesburg, South Africa and will work with Efficient Engineering®; our manufacturing partner in South Africa, to serve portions of the African market. Every October, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta fills the New Mexico sky with hundreds of colorful hot air balloons, drawing visitors from around the world. This year’s event also featured Fiesta de los Globitos, a showcase of remote-controlled miniature hot air balloons.
To share in the Fiesta spirit, Product Support Sales Representative Bill Taylor and Parts Sales Representative Alex Flores set up Bill’s remote-controlled balloon “¿Red or Green?” in front of Mega for the team to enjoy. It made for a great group photo and a fun way to celebrate Balloon Fiesta week together.
Mega is in the process of delivering three MTT42’s on CAT® 789’s to a mining customer in Australia. These 42,000 gallon (159,000 liter) MTT42’s were designed and manufactured to meet applicable Australian and customer standards while incorporating the CAT® WDS 1.0 spray control system.
These are the first WDS tanks Mega has made for this size and model of truck and included foam agent systems, rear-mounted water cannons, a canopy over the operator’s cab and numerous other custom features. The machines were sold by Westrac® the Caterpillar® dealer in Western Australia.
Mega is in the process of delivering three MTT42’s on CAT® 789’s to a mining customer in Australia. These 42,000 gallon (159,000 liter) MTT42’s were designed and manufactured to meet applicable Australian and customer standards while incorporating the CAT® WDS 1.0 spray control system.
Mega has completed an MTT52 52,000 gallon (197,000 liter) water tank with spray systems for installation onto a Caterpillar® 793 mine truck. Mega built its first MTT52 CAT793 25 years ago and has now built over 30 MTT52’s for both Komatsu® 830E and Caterpillar® 793 trucks. This machine was sold to Caterpillar® dealer Wyoming Machinery®, and will go to work in a coal mining application in Wyoming.
Mega has completed the first Indian-manufactured MTT13 water tank with Mega DiSCS® spray system. The 13,000 gallon (49,000 liter) tank is the first built by Mega’s manufacturing partner Gainwell Engineering®, in India (Mega had previously built tanks with Gainwell® Commosales; their sister company and one of the Caterpillar® dealers in India).

Mega is pleased to announce the addition of an Independent Sales Representative for Africa, Mr. Bakang Kgaswane. Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, Bakang brings over 20 years of experience in international sales, marketing, R&D, and management within the mining and materials processing industries. He will collaborate with our manufacturing partner, Efficient Engineering, to represent and manufacture Mega products for customers across Africa. Please join us in welcoming Bakang to Team Mega.
We are pleased to announce the promotion of Jon Esquibel to Senior Staff Engineer. Jon has successfully led complex projects with our global partners and has become a key resource across multiple areas. He has also played an important role in training new engineers and supporting the team in leadership capacities. Please join us in congratulating Jon on his well-deserved promotion.
We’re excited to share the promotion of Logan Pierson to Night Shift Supervisor. Logan joined our welding team after earning his Associates in Welding Science from Central New Mexico Community College. His creativity and strong work ethic have stood out from the start, and he has quickly grown into a dependable leader.
