Retirement of Jeff Linn & Appointment of New Director of Sales

From all of us at Mega, we congratulate our Director of Sales & Marketing; Mr. Jeff Linn, on his retirement from Mega this month. All of us at Mega were grateful to be able to work alongside Jeff for the past 15 years of his career in the construction & mining equipment manufacturing industry – a career of almost 50 years that included positions at Caterpillar, Komatsu, Philipi-Hagenbuch and Westech/WOTCO.

Jeff and his wife; Lu, have purchased a home in Florida and are planning to spend time with their family & enjoying the warm winters that area is famous for along with Jeff’s major passion - golfing. We wish Jeff & Lu all the best and we look forward to finding an excuse to visit them at the first sign of snow this winter!

We are also excited to announce the appointment of Mr. Dylan Thomas to the position of Director of Sales & Marketing, succeeding Jeff. Dylan joins us with a quarter-century of experience including management positions in sales and operations roles with OEM construction & mining equipment dealers and major equipment rental businesses throughout the USA. Prior to joining Mega, Dylan was most recently General Manager of the Rental Division for a major OEM dealer in the Midwest. Dylan and his wife; Nattakan, have relocated to Albuquerque and are settling into their new home. Please join us in welcoming Dylan to our team and please take a moment to come meet him at MinExpo.

Roughly 50% percent of our business is outside of the United States and for some of our largest products going to distant locations, the cost of freight can equal, or even exceed, the price of the machine. To help significantly reduce this expense to our customers, Mega has developed a network of international manufacturing partners. For over 20 years, Mega has been proud to work with manufacturing partners around the world. We are proud to say we work with the very best companies, in the best locations, to build Mega products for our international customers.

Mega now offers replaceable magnesium anodes for both new tanks as well as in kit form for retrofit to existing tanks. These pencil-type sacrificial anodes help extend the life of the tank by protecting it from corrosion and are threaded to allow for easy inspection and replacement. The new external mounting location eliminates the need for confined space operations.

Mega's legacy digital control system; DiSCS 1.0/1.5, has been in operation for almost 10 years and was modernized with a CAN bus network over 5 years ago. The new computer network technology for DiSCS 2.0 provided improvements to programming, operator visual feedback, maintenance troubleshooting, ease of operation, durability and supportability. DiSCS 1.0/1.5 systems & components are no longer being manufactured and these versions will no longer be supported. Mega estimates current levels of DiSCS 1.0/1.5 inventory and inbound purchased parts will be depleted by late 2021.

Mega has developed two different DiSCS 2.0 retro-fit kits to upgrade the existing DiSCS 1.0/1.5 control systems. For more information, contact Mega Product Support.
