I have received a number of messages and calls regarding some recent Mega news…at the end of 2020, I had stepped down from my position as President at Mega. Now, 4 years later, I find myself back at the helm as Mega’s CEO & President. It’s a great time in our company’s history to be in this position, and I appreciate the opportunity to serve in this capacity once again. I am proud to say that Team Mega is the best group we have ever had, and along with our management team, we look forward to continuing work together with our customers, suppliers and manufacturing partner.
Elsewhere in this newsletter, we have two important new product introductions to make. One is an off-highway rock spreader for 100-ton (91 metric ton) class trucks, for use in improving traction on haul roads during winter weather. The other is the addition of the CAT® Water Delivery System (WDS) 2.0 with factory installation for select applications of our WDS 20,000-gallon (76,000-liter) water tanks.
It’s an exciting time for Mega, and I am optimistic about the future. With new innovations, a stronger-than-ever team, we are ready to meet the challenges ahead and build on our legacy of success.
Thank you for thinking about Mega!
After years of turning away requests to develop and manufacture a rock spreader, we have recently delivered two 100 short ton (91 metric ton) units, installed upon a CAT®777 off-highway mining trucks for use in a surface mine in Minnesota’s Iron Range. We have named this product MRS100 and it will be available in 150 and 200 ton (136 and 182 metric ton) sizes as well.
Durable Mega rock spreaders use hydraulically-driven spinners to distribute aggregate onto icy road surfaces to improve traction. They are available with various features and options including material screens, wear resistant liners, vibrators and rock ejectors.
Mega is proud to be the first manufacturer to offer installation of the CAT® WDS 2.0 spray system. The CAT® WDS 2.0 system can be ordered in combination with Mega’s MTT20 water tanks for use with certain models of CAT® 777 off-highway trucks, along with all compatible Mega tanks & spray system options. This new version allows us to complete factory assembly of the spray system onto the water tank prior to delivery and simplifies field installation to match dealer/customer expectations. We recently received our first orders for 2xMTT20’s with CAT® WDS 2.0 spray system for a customer in South America.

In January, our team wrapped up production on a series of Mega Scraper Tanks (MSC) built for Empire. These tanks are designed to convert CAT® scrapers into high-capacity water solutions, making them a versatile option for dust suppression, soil conditioning, and haul road maintenance. Built with Mega’s signature quality and durability, these MSC’s are engineered to withstand the harsh demands of mining and construction environments while integrating seamlessly with your machine. Whether it’s controlling dust on job sites or ensuring optimal ground conditions, Empire’s scraper tanks will provide efficient and reliable performance for years to come.
Mega has been steadily manufacturing premium 4,000-gallon (15,150-liter) MOH4 water tanks and 3,000-gallon (11,350-liter) MFL3 fuel and lube service trucks for the past several years, delivering reliable solutions for demanding job sites. These products have been primarily installed onto Peterbilt and Kenworth on-highway truck chassis for construction applications across North America.
Designed to be the most durable machines of their type, they have stood the test of time, and as a testament to that goal, we are now preparing to replace the chassis under one of our oldest MOH4 tanks. These products feature the same design strategy and share many components with our larger off-highway water and service trucks, ensuring consistent performance across the Mega lineup.
